Steve Tilston is one of folk music’s finest guitarists as well as being an outstanding singer/songwriter.
His career started in the late ‘60s and his work likened to that of other English performers of his generation, Nick Drake and John Martyn.
Released on Tilston’s Cornucopia label in 1976, “Songs From the Dress Rehearsal” returns some of his finest songs.
Produced by Rupert Hine (later to craft recordings for artists including Camel, Kevin Ayers, Tina Turner, Chris de Burgh, Stevie Nicks), the album features musical accompaniment from Hine, John G Perry (Quantum Jump) and Michael Giles (King Crimson).
The set is bolstered further with five extra tracks from 1979 produced by Stefan Grossman.
