“The album kicks off with six live tracks followed by eleven studio cuts which show the bands wry sense of humour and the band’s harder edge, while remaining catchy. A band that demands not to be forgotten despite their premature extinction.” lpcdreissues
Mammoth were built around the idea of having heavy musicians playing heavy music and despite the gimmick the line-up fielded excellent tunes and music.
‘Larger And Live’ contains six live tracks from a Radio One Road Show in Prestatyn in 1987 and show Nicky Moore (ex-Samson) in great form with his bluesy voice.
Moore and John McCoy (ex-Gillan) had a strong songwriting partnership and they produced some classic AOR/melodic rock songs.
Mammoth had what it took in every sense and it was only a case of what ‘could have been’ were the band not to split up in 1989.
