Multi-instrumentalist Maartin Allcock (Fairport Convention) joined forces with singer-songwriter/guitarist and Pete Zorn (Richard Thompson Band, Barbara Dickson) with later recruit Steve Tilston to record WAZ’s second album in 1998 to critical and public acclaim.
‘Fully Chromatic’ benefited hugely from Tilston’s role; formerly in John Renbourne’s band Ship of Fools and a highly proficient writer and performer with a string of solo releases under his belt, he composed nine of the 13 tracks on the album.
A potent and exuberant brew of folk, country and world music, the release assisted the act in becoming a popular turn on the live folk circuit by showcasing their respective and collective talents to a hugely entertaining effect.
Tilston continued a successful solo career with a run of well-received albums and continues to tour in 2025.
