This 2013-released follow-up to Stray frontman Del Bromham’s debut solo album, ‘Devil’s Highway’ picks up where he left off with another assured declaration of debt to the blues.

Bromham on acoustic, electric, slide and bass guitars picks deftly through this heady often personal brew of a set, all composed by him for this release.

Stylistically-diverse spanning acoustic, Memphis, blues-rock, country, boogie-woogie and more, it takes in the folk-infused unplugged and the chugging boogie in equal measure, backed up by some powerful percussion from Stray sticks man Karl Randall.

Nine Yards’ is derived from the saying “going the whole nine yards”, in turn meaning ‘all the way’.

It’s a heady brew and enough to sate the appetite of the discerning blues afficionado.
