Artist: Steve Tilston
Title: Such & Such
File: Folk/Rock
Released October 10th 2025 to all digital sales sites
Traditional folk, cool jazz, singalong soft rock, tundra to conundra – musically, this 2003 release was the celebrated English folk artist’s most varied and ambitious to date.
Working with a flexible studio line-up, Steve Tilston brings just the right musical ingredients and textures to each song on ‘Such & Such’. The new album features twelve self-penned compositions with the rare addition of a traditional work “The Constant Lover”.
Captivated by this tragic ballad Steve turned it into something of his own, bringing to it the distinctive Tilston guitar style garnished by the wonderful musicianship and haunting but subtle vocal harmony of Anna Ryder. Guest musicians include Keith Warmington, the BBC Radio presenter, who played on Steve’s very first album Acoustic Confusion; Roy Dodds, ex-Fairground Attraction, a member of Steve’s early 80’s band Loose Shoes; the distinctive fiddle of Richard Curran is here as is multi-instrumentalist Ryder, Maartin Allock, from the Fairport Convention line up that recorded a trio of Tilston classics, and legendary sax player, Andy Shepherd.
