STEVE ELLIS – one of the greatest white soul singers Gt Britain has ever produced – has recorded a brand-new album with three songs co-written with his friend, PAUL WELLER, and CAROLINE KNOTT.
Eleven new tracks highlight his powerful, gravelly, blue- eyed soul voice in compositions that portray an aggressive yet melodic resonance. ‘Baby Faced Assassin’ has been mixed and mastered by Richard Whittaker, widely- regarded as the go-to engineer for heritage artists including The Who, Def Leppard and Thin Lizzy.
Steve shot to fame in the late 60’s as Lead Singer with LOVE AFFAIR. The band enjoyed a dizzying period of success in 1968 and 1969 with chart topper “Everlasting Love”, “Rainbow Valley”, “Bringing On Back The Good Times”,” A Day Without Love” and “One Road”.
Steve moved on to record solo material in the soul mould before forming ELLIS and WIDOWMAKER, embarking on a solo career releasing critically- acclaimed albums and touring the length and breadth of Gt Britain.
