The gestation and consequent appeal of a song is discussed with writer/performer James Warren at Its Psychedelic Baby in interview with host Klemen Breznikar.
The topic is James’s seminal hit ‘Everybody’s Got To Learn Sometime’ by his band The Korgis and his recent and beautiful re-reading of it for Singsong Music to celebrate its 40th anniversary.
James opens up about the song’s gestation, the subsequent rise through the 80s charts, and its ongoing use, from Beck’s version for the film Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind to covers like Baby D’s dance take.
And then there are the early prog days working with Beatles’ producer George Martin for James’s immensely popular band Stackridge to add to an enjoyable mix.
