Title:     Devil’s Highway

File:      Blues/Rock

RELEASED TO DIGITAL SALES JANUARY 2nd 2026

While British rock band Stray is renowned for cross-matching genres, founder and front man Del Bromham’s solo work taps firmly at the door of the Delta.

Recorded while supporting Mountain’s Leslie West’s Blues To Die For tour of the UK and Europe in 2004, ‘Devil’s Highway’ exemplifies not only Bromham’s passion for the blues, but the guitarist’s aptitude to capture and bottle its very essence.

Pared back to old school analogue production values, the album delivers a mix of blues stylings, from ballads to boogies, churning Hammond organ fronted by Bromham’s fluid steel guitar evoking the spirit of Freddie King and Steve Cropper.

Original compositions are complemented by covers of Lonnie Johnson‘s “Careless Love” and Arthur Crudup‘s “That’s Alright Mama“; they’re done right, too, because it matters.

Bonus tracks from 2011 constitute acoustic tracks in the main, forming a soothing balm on the rampaging stomp of the original.
