“The legendary guitarist returns with an excellent solo LP which sees him showcase his song-writing chops.” Craig Chaline, Louder Than War
“… a musical backdrop to a dozen personal songs that showcase the Stray front man’s real song-writing forte.” Pete Feenstra, Get Ready To Rock
Many of the Stray frontman’s solo albums fall happily back on his love of the blues.
2018’s ‘White Feather’ is something an exception: while the blues are there, it’s tonally closer to his band’s output with generous dabs of swimmy 60’s pop and a Beatles vibe at times.
Many of the songs – all penned by Del – are also reflective, drawing the listener in.

A personal statement of a release, its genesis coming after Bromham’s eldest daughter passing in 2016, a number of tracks on ‘White Feather’ reflect on the passing of time, and of course his personal loss.
That is not to suggest this is all maudlin music. It’s as much a celebration of life with funky upbeat tunes, impressive string arrangement, and the vivid, fluid lead guitar for which he is rightly revered.
Above all else, it shines light on how the album gives rein to this man’s gift for honing a lyric and crafting melody.
