Singsong Music is delighted to be administering recording and publishing copyrights on behalf of musician and songwriter, Jim McCarty.
We are very saddened to mark the passing of our friend and colleague Mo Foster.
Drummer with the seminal 1960’s super group the Yardbirds, Jim McCarty worked with progressive bands Renaissance and Illusion, as well as Shoot and Box of Frogs before forming Stairway in the late 1980s.
This sizzling set of ‘50s R&B would sit well with early period Rolling Stones and Pretty Things were not it for the fact it was recorded in 1990 by the act that bore us Mott The Hoople.
By contrast to his blues/psych/rock super-group, the Yardbirds drummer Jim McCarthy‘s 1990’s band Pilgrim was musically closer to his time with progressive acts Renaissance, Illusion and even more so, their ‘New Age’ successor, Stairway.
Signed to the very hip Vertigo Records, British Lions’ self-titled debut hit the streets to critical acclaim in 1978.
Written at home in France, Yardbirds drummer Jim McCarty’s second solo album ‘Sitting on The Top of Time’ was recorded with top notch session support between June 2006 and April 2008 in Toronto.
Within weeks of the departure of vocalist Ian Hunter and guitarist Mick Ronson in late 1974 from the ranks of Mott The Hoople, remaining members drummer Dale Griffin, Morgan Fisher (keyboards) and bass guitarist Pete ‘Overend’ Watts were laying down demos at London’s Gooseberry Studio.
